Sun in Virgo 2025

The Sun will enter the sign of sidereal Virgo  late in the evening of  September 16th and will remain in it till the early hours of October 17th. The Aditya blessing the sign is Vivasvān, the one who is brilliant and effulgent from the root word वस् (vas). As per the Samba Purana he dwells in the fire and is responsible for digestion of food in the body of creatures. The digestive fire is also the fire of intelligence (agni tattva) and of assimilation which governs all transformative processes. This fire serves as a bridge between the body, the mind, and the consciousness and when this fire is not right in our bodies, we have problems with metabolism and digestion.

Virgo the natural sixth house of zodiac deals with diseases which are often the result of imbalances – undigested actions and emotions.  The sixth house being the 7th from the 12th house where the mind was created (12th house being the 9th from the 4th house of mind) showing the desires of the mind to be experienced this life and thus becoming a major reason for re-birth. That is why Rahu has his mulatrikona (office) in Virgo as he responsible for bringing us back into the planet because of our unfinished desires that may result in internal negative traits (Ṣaḍripu). Saturn the natural significator (Karaka) of the 6th house is the other planet that is responsible for us coming back to earth to complete any unfinished business (Karma) which we may view as punishment.  Malefic planets in the 6th house propel us to play for “win to take” all the time – akin to the harvest energy the 6th house brings, but they steal our peace and leave us with a lot of residue in the form of imprints and  strongly entrench us in the cycle of rebirth. Nevertheless, the 6th house is also an upachaya – house of improvement and it pays to be aware of the nature of planets in the 6th house as well as its ruler to see how we can bring more acceptance in our life.

I am talking on the same subject titled “The Journey of the Spiritual Warrior: Transformation through Adversity” online on September 20th at the BAVA International conference. The talk shall explore with examples of key personalities how the 6th house  in a horoscope reveals suffering through self-limiting behaviours shown by the internal weaknesses of the mind, the Ṣaḍripu  and how they can be transformed. Transits

Sun joins an exalted Mercury in Virgo to form a Nipuna yoga of brilliance. The combination also receives the blessing of Jupiter from Gemini. Nevertheless, authority and leadership can be restrained as the Sun is now aspected by a retrograde Saturn from Pisces. We are also moving towards a solar eclipse this month.

The planet of action Mars has finally moved away from Saturn’s influence and is in Libra but is aspected by Rahu from Aquarius, the combination of Mars and Rahu can give rise to untoward incidents and acrimony if one is impatient. Virgo has the pincer effect (papa kartari) due to Mars in Libra and Venus and Ketu in Leo. The grace of Jupiter has never been more important. The second solar eclipse falls on 21st September in Uttaraphalgunī  naskhatra (3rd pada) in the sign of Virgo which is suffering from a pincer effect. For the UK, the eclipse ascendant is Aries, the 9th house of future (in the natal chart) with Mars and Jupiter in marana positions (7th and 3rd house). We are expecting a harsh and extractive Autumn Budget which will hit the people signified by the planet Moon assigned to the portion at the peak hour of eclipse. For the US, the effect will be more on the people though there will be some challenges with the leadership and statesmen as the planets affected are the Sun followed by the Moon. For both Russia and Ukraine the calculation reveals that Saturn is affected which relates to border issues. For Israel, the planet affected is Sun, calling for change in power structure. For more details on the impact of the countries please read my report on Solar Eclipses of 2025 https://vijayajyoti.com/eye-on-the-sky-solar-eclipses-of-2025/ along with my write-up on Chaitra Śukla Pratipada 2025 https://vijayajyoti.com/chaitra-sukla-pratipada/ written earlier this year. The best personal remedy is to worship Dakṣiṇāmūrti, the teaching form of Siva on the solar eclipse day especially if your ascendant, Sun or Moon is in Uttaraphalguni.

Care should be taken with matters of affection and love as Venus is moving towards Ketu. The exact conjunction is on the 3rd of October in Purva Phalguni Nakshatra. Venus in Leo is in nīca abhilāśa  rashi, as it moves towards its debilitation sign in Virgo on the 9th of October. The same day Mercury moves into Libra where Mars is. The combination of Mercury and Mars is said to be a boxing yoga – of extreme competition. They get into orb of influence from the 10th of October though the exact conjunction is after the transit of the Sun into Libra.

This is the last month to enjoy the beneficence of a direct Jupiter this year for Gemini ascendants as it will move into Cancer on the 18th October.  Jupiter will return to retrograde to Gemini in December. Jupiter will be in the last degree (rashi sandhi) from the 7th of October and Jupiter and Sun will be in the same degree though in different signs on the 15th  and 16th September as they both prepare to leave the signs Gemini and Virgo respectively.

Festivals

The holy period of ancestors, pitru paksha which starts on the 7th of September and will end on September 21th, the same day as a partial solar eclipse . The eclipse will take place at 19.43hrs UTC (we are still in summer time in UK) in the second pada of Uttaraphalguni Nakshatra in Virgo that will be visible in Southern Australia, New Zealand, Antarctica. The summer in the Northern Hemisphere ends on September 22nd – the day of autumnal equinox when the Sun is exactly above the Equator and day and night are of equal length.

The same day as equinox, the festival of Navaratri, the 9 days of divine goddess also starts. Tradionally, these nine days are  filled with special offerings, yagnas, fasting, meditations, singing and dancing and by the display of beautiful art and dolls to honour the Mother Divine and her entire creation. The festival ends on October 2nd on Vijaya Dashami or Dusshera when the victory of Rama over Ravana – Good over Evil is celebrated. Another notable day is on September 30th Saraswati Puja, when the goddess of learning is worshipped.

May we implore Vivasvān Aditya to bless us with right fire so that we are able to digest our thoughts, emotions, and actions properly and to remain free from diseases.

ॐ घृणिः विवस्वानादित्य
