The Sun will transiting the sidereal sign of Pisces from the late evening of March 14th to April 13th. Sun in Pisces is blessed by Viṣṇu Aditya. Viṣṇu is from the root word viṣ (विष्) means to pervade and he is all pervasive. He is the foremost amongst the adityas as Krishna declared in chapter 11 of Bhagavad Gita “of the all the Adityas I am Viṣṇu”.
Pisces is the natural 12th house of enlightenment. The sign is symbolised by the two fishes swimming around, one going up and one going around. The fish going up represents liberation and the one going down indicates the path of materialism or samsara. Both paths are equally possible depending on the choices we make. This house carries all our imprints from our past called vasanas and shows our entanglement with life. These are the conditions we associate with being happy. But happiness is unconditional. It is always good to be aware of what is in our 12th house that is impeding liberation. Here I am keen to say that awareness goes beyond cognitively knowing, as awareness encompasses “knowing and being”.
The word Vishnu stands for purity and with his help we seek purity to resolve the affairs of the 12th house so that we can go on the path of liberation signified by Ketu who is also the karaka for the house. It is always good to chant the 12 syllable mantra of Vishnu of the planet in the 12th house to seek the right path.
Viṣṇu Aditya is the destroyer of the asuras (demonic forces). He restores peace and balance. The root word viṣ also means to subdue and one is reminded of the story of the fall of the mighty asura king Mahabali who was overcome by Vishnu assuming the form of a dwarf Brahmin Vamana. In this form Vishnu is also known as Trivikrama as one who has conquered the world in three steps. One can worship Trivikrama to get rid of tyrants and bullies.
The turbulent events of the past months have made our hearts heavy. The Mars and Venus war in Sagittarius the sky in Sagittarius resulted in unfortunate circumstances for many. The war effort started in Purvashada and it is a fan that can spread the events. It is unlikely that issues are resolved permanently, however the ware between Mars and Venus is over and we can hope for some respite after the separation of Mars and Saturn on the 6th of April.
Sun transits into Pisces leaving Jupiter and Mercury in Aquarius. Jupiter will be on his own in Aquarius for a week from the 24th March as Mercury joins Sun in Pisces. Venus enters Aquarius and joins Jupiter on the 31st of March giving respite to the Mars-Venus yoga for a week. Mars enters into a war with Saturn on the 4th and 5th April and overcomes it on the 6th of April to join Venus and Jupiter in Aquarius on the 7th of April. This breaks the Mars and Saturn Yama Yoga signifying a possibility of a cease-fire. Mars and Venus are again within each other’s orb in one sign until the 26th April signifying resolution is not immediate.
We have a lot of movement in April in the sky. Mercury moves into Aries on the 8th of April. The nodes Rahu and Ketu move into Aries and Libra on the 12th April for the next 18 months. All the eclipses will be in these two signs and it the time for those with Ascendants, Sun and Moon in Aries and Libra to start thinking what needs to evolve or change in their life. Jupiter moves into Pisces on the 13th April gracing all dual signs with a Hamsa Mahapurusha yoga by transit for a year.
The days around the Sun’s movement into Aries on the 14th April while crossing the gandanta point (water/fire) of Pisces into Aries is very critical and sensitive as there are 4 other planets in rashi sandhi (within the last/first degree of a sign). Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu are in 1st degree of the sign whereas Saturn is in the last degree of Capricorn.
Moving to positive aspects, we celebrate Holi, the spring festival of colours on the 18th March, the full moon day of the lunar month of Phalgun. The Vernal equinox falls on the 20th March, so this is the time to get close to nature and enjoy more daylight. Rāma Navami, the birthday of the ascetic king Rāma from the sacred epic
Rāmayana who was the embodiment of perfect character falls on April 10th.
