The Sun will be in Aries from April 14th It is a New Year for many who follow a solar calendar, I wish everyone new beginnings and a very happy new year.
We welcome the year Śubhakṛt which is the 36th in number and the last five years of the middle section of the Jovian years, ruled by the deity Viṣvadevās. The word śubha means auspicious, pleasant or pure and krta is action together meaning auspicious deeds. According to Varahamihirā, the year is said to be beneficial to people. As per Hora Ratnam one born in this year can be fortunate, a well-wisher for others, educated and righteous.
The Aditya associated with Aries is Dhātṛ (धातृ) from the root word dha meaning to place or put or hold. It can also mean to possess or causing to bestow. He is an upholder of rules and keeps his word. He can wage wars if rules are not upheld. He is the supporter of world and gives us the earth. The word refers to the creator energy that is used to describe Brahma. As per the Brahma Purana the prajapatis (sages) had all divided their inner radiance (tejas) to pave the way into material world through the dvadasa Aditya. First among them is Indra and Dhāta is second Amsha of Surya bestowed with the creative energy of Rajas. The sign Aries is bestowed with the creator energy. Everything is possible in this sign and nature echoes the hope and positivity with the days getting longer.
Sun joins Mercury and Rahu in Aries. While the Sun is exalted in Aries, the eclipse combination of Sun and Rahu is said to weaken Jupiter. Four planets Sun, Rahu, Jupiter and Saturn are in the first or last degree of a sign making the sky unstable. With so many planets moving this month, there are bound to be opportunities, but try to stay still and not make major decisions until the eclipse.
The long conjunction of Mars and Venus that brought war will lose its potency from 26th of April as they move out of each other’s orb. However, it may be more prudent to wait for a resolution until the two planets are in different signs from the 23th of May. The exhilarating news is that Mercury breaks the kala sarpa in the sky on the 24th April by moving into Taurus giving some hope for enterprise and business. But it may a tad too early to get excited. Mercury will be retrograde from the 10th of May till 4th of June. Mercury is also aspected by Mars from Aquarius (the lord of eclipse) that is in exchange with Rahu in Aries until 17th of May. Venus moves into Pisces to join Jupiter, its sign of exaltation on the 27th April and will remain there till the 22nd of May. The dual signs will enjoy a double Mahāpuruṣa yoga of Hamsa and Mālavya yoga.
Saturn moves into Aquarius on the 29th of April until July 12th giving a flavour of what we are going to experience more deeply after January 17th 2023 when it will occupy the sign for over 2 years till March 2025. Saturn will aspect the signs of Aries, Leo and Scorpio from Aquarius. Those with Moon signs in Capricorn will get a relief for 8 weeks. The transit of Saturn on the sign where Moon is placed is greatly helped by the worship of Lord Hanuman. He is worshipped for courage and strength to overcome evil and weaknesses, both internal and external. We celebrate Hanuman Jayanti on the April 16th.
Saturn will join Mars in Aquarius but the yoga will be weak as they are outside the orb of influence and indicate the events of the near past. The Sun while transiting the signs of Aquarius and Pisces had escaped the watchful eye of Saturn for the past 2 months and now will be aspected as it moves into Aries, creating conditions for conflict and rebellion. In the UK, we can expect more news on “party-gate” scandal and Boris Johnson and his coterie can feel the heat again.
We end the month with a partial solar eclipse in Aries the Artha pada (2nd pada denoting security and wealth) of the nakṣatra of Bharani. On the same day Jupiter and Venus are in a war, Jupiter will have the upper hand. Read about the details of eclipses in my article – https://vijayajyoti.com/eye-on-the-sky-solar-eclipses-of-2022/
Let us invoke the blessings of Dhātṛ Aditya to uphold, sustain and support unity amongst human beings.
